Team

Keith Hirst BEng CEng MIStructE

After graduating from Leeds University with a degree in Civil Engineering with Architecture in 1995, Keith relocated to London in 1997 and joined Conisbee Structural Engineers, working on a variety of projects, both refurbishment of historic period properties and new build schemes.

Keith became a chartered member of the Institute of Structural Engineers in 2001.

From 2003 Keith worked at Price & Myers and Built Engineers in London before rejoining Conisbee in 2012 and being promoted to Associate. Keith ran a successful team designing several housing schemes with varying construction budgets up to £30m for both private developers and housing associations.

Many of these inner London schemes present complex design issues such as building over or close to existing underground infrastructure or nearby railways. Keith has extensive experience of dealing with such issues and liaising with third parties to obtain build-over agreements as well as complex party wall negotiations.

Keith’s team also worked on a range of small and large refurbishment schemes and designed a new family home for designer, Thomas Heatherwick.

In 2017, after 20 years of working in London, Keith relocated to Ramsgate and set up his own structural consultancy practice, H|F-K.

Keith is an enthusiastic designer with a keen interest in contemporary architectural design.

Guy Foord-Kelcey MA (Oxon)

Having graduated from Oxford University in 1996 with a degree in Physiological Sciences, Guy started his first career at MGP.

MGP is a multi-media company focused on promoting best practice in healthcare. In his 20 years at the company, it grew from a staff of 5 to over 40, with a turnover of more than £3 million. During that time he gained much operational experience and valuable insight into the running of an SME. He was made Technical Director in 2009, assuming responsibility for the MGP’s IT infrastructure and digital development. This included managing the development of the company’s websites and apps.

In 2017 Guy joined Keith in relocating to Ramsgate and founding H|F-K. Guy looks after the day-to-day operation of the business and has re-channeled his print and digital design skills to become an aspiring AutoCAD technician.

He is also responsible for walking H|F-K’s two dogs.
